Saint Joseph Rosary

A father is a source of strength and support, protector of his family, and constantly striving to provide for and raise his children to know right from wrong. A father puts the needs of his family before his own and teaches his children the value of hard work, courage, honesty, and good judgment. The inspiring example for all fathers, and also the inspiration for this special Rosary, is Saint Joseph, patron saint of fathers, workers and the Universal Church, because of his obedience, humility, selflessness, courage and the love he showed to Mary and Jesus. Whether he realizes it or not, it is through such dedication and commitment to his family, that a dad emulates Saint Joseph. The brown lava rock beads used in this Rosary are literally made from cooled down molten rock (also called Basalt, an igneous rock). In order for rock to melt, it has to reach temperatures as high as 1,000 degrees Celsius beneath a volcano. Lava rock is said to be a "grounding stone," and we think that is perfect for St. Joseph and to pay tribute to all of the fathers in our lives. The olivewood beads used for the Our Fathers, come from olive trees, which have been in existence from the times of Jesus Christ. These trees are considered sacred because Christ lived and preached in the areas where they grow. Once the tree reaches the age of 200 years or so, the trunk disappears and new shoots develop at the base of the trunk, eventually growing into a new tree, which has caused some to refer to it as the “immortal tree.” The beads are made from the trimming of branches only - No trees were killed in the process. The crucifix in this Rosary, either solid bronze or sterling silver, represents the Holy Family and is a model of faithfulness, with the Lamb of God at the foot, representing Jesus, Joseph and Mary on each arm, and the Holy Spirit at the top. The centerpiece, also in bronze or sterling silver, offers a devotion to St. Joseph on one side and the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary on the other. All together, we think this creation celebrates all fathers, through St. Joseph, and our families as well as the the Holy Family through the hand cast crucifix.
