Holy Land Olivewood Youth Rosary
The perfect first Rosary for a young boy or girl! – Perhaps a Baptism or first Holy Communion – and make a piece of the Holy Land theirs forever! This special Rosary was designed to get us closer to the Holy Land by using a mixture of different sizes of olivewood beads imported from Bethlehem. It features a simple but elegant silver tone Miraculous Medal and a crucifix made of olivewood with the accents and corpus in silver tone metal.
The olive trees from which the wood used to make our beads is harvested have been in existence from the times of Jesus Christ. These olive trees are considered sacred because Christ lived and preached in the areas where they grow. Once the tree reaches the age of 200 years or so, the trunk disappears and new shoots develop at the base of the trunk, which eventually will grow into a new tree. This ability of the olive tree to be regenerative has caused some to refer to it as the “immortal tree.” The people of the Holy Land protect olive trees and rarely ever cut them down. The wood from which your Rosary is made comes from the trimming of branches only. No trees were killed or harmed to gather the wood used to make these beads. The Bible says that the Christ himself was a carpenter by profession and many believe that Christ would have worked on this wood as well. Olive wood offers insight, inspiration, aids in communication, promotes peacefulness, joy and a deep sense of devotion.
